So it's finally that time!! 4th term at my school which means we have to do a 3d game! No more 2d meaning my work as now crashed into my door for this term. I've got about 5-6 unique characters to model, and THEN animate to fit the game. On top of that, im pretty sure im going to have to do a lot of the environment modeling, but we'll see about that one :s
Anyway, our game this term will be a Ratchet and Clank type of platformer game, where we're aiming at a cartoon type of world. So we have a dwarf as our main character wielding a huge mace and a gun, some goblins as our grunt type enemy, a 4 legged dog type creature which we're not sure what will look like yet, a lava/rock giant for our bigger tougher enemies, and a dragon for our final boss >.<.
So the terms already started now for the past month and i've got 2 models completed, here's one of them which is the Tribal Goblin :) Hope you guys like it. Concept was by Alek Maeots again, who is again our lead concept artist.

Gunnar - Term 3 Animation project
So it's been a long time now since i've posted an update on my work, and with so many projects currently in work, I feel like it's about time to add some more material on this site.
This project was an animation that i worked on for our 3rd term video game called BlasterStar Galactica(yes, it sounds just like Battlestar Galactica) which is a 2d flash game for the internet.
My role was to create a 3d logo animation for our game, which every game company today include in the beginning of their game. I could of went with something easy like just simply make our "Joyous Nausea" name logo rotate around aimlessly, but I decided to challenge myself and recreate our main character from 2d to 3d, and make him the star of our animation also. (Gunnar concept made by Alek Maeots, our team concept artist)
This project all together took me about a month I would say, mainly because it was my 1st time doing any character animation, which includes creating the bones(Which I made instead of using the Biped system in 3DS max), rig the bone system in order to control it, and skin the bone system to my model(Which is the biggest pain in the ass). After all this came the challenge to actually make the animation as real as possible. Also another 1st was me texturing a character, which was actually hard to do without a Wacom Tablet(Which i now possess >.< 2 late now)
Anyway, for now i'll post the character model itself for anyone to take a look at, not sure if animations can be posted in a blog, so won't bother yet.

3DT Environment update #2
I feel like it's time for an update on what i've been working on today. I've decided that this will now become an abandoned gun factory. That pit next to the building will actually have some sort of light coming of it, thinking of maybe putting in some sort of lava substance or something just to make it interesting. This whole thing like I said in my last post will be in the style of Ben Templesmith, so it will definitly look interesting at the end when im done. :)

3DT Environment update
Theres the 1st progress post for the environment im making for the competition, really not too much detail added yet, but I felt like posting this because the vent fan I made came out better then I could of imagined, and although it looks like it's just floating in that hole, it's actually connected to a pretty nicely detailed pipe that goes down the hole. Im thinking later on when it's all done to add a very small light at the end of the hole, so that I get this nice shadow coming out from the fan. :) Im also going to add a couple bars in front of the fan, cause you know, safety 1st and all. (Not that 2 bars will stop someone from slippin an arm through, but atleast no one will fall entirely in ;P)

Environment
No real update today, I worked on the villa early this morning, continuing the unwrapping of the model, but since 3d Total just opened up this month's competition to be environment, im going to do something much more daring. Since the competition is very open in terms of restrictions and all, im going to create something very unique, using a combonation of 2 styles from 2 of my favorite artists, Ben Templesmith and Feng Zhu. Will have some sketches up tomorrow, I've been drawing a lot today with plans to what exactly model.

Michalengelo's nunchuks
Decided to throw this in, I did this about 2-3 months ago for a school project were I had to model one of the TMNT's weapon, of course I chose the one which I thought would challenge me the most ;). I put a lot of detail into it, and I had it textured, but I seem to have lost the textures somewhere. Anyway, hope you guys like it :)

Villa done model
W.I.P Gunner
Yang's sword
Sword Buster
Well this is my Yin's weapon for choppin dude's, as you can see it's highly inspired by Cloud's Buster Sword from Final Fantasy 7 :). Also, it's even textured, which includes a diffuse, specular and a bump map! Lots of scratches on this blade lol which are maybe a bit too randomly placed ;p. 298 tris
Yin
This is my 1st go at a real organic character and full project, created for the 3d Total Low Poly competition called "Yin-Yang" which was to create either one character with split personality, or 2 characters opposite each other. My idea was to create two twin androids, but with slightly different colours to represent one being good and one being evil, but since this was my 1st time doing organic modeling, 1st time unwrapping, 1st time using Zbrush for my High poly and 1st time texturing, I got overwhelmed and didn't manage to complete it in time for the deadline.
Anyway, hope you guys like him, I had a lot of fun creating it and learned a hell of a lot. :)
He's sitting at 6200 tris.
W.I.P Eagle Den INN

Finally a home :)
Finally a nice place for me to keep my artwork out there. Im going to try to post as many W.I.P's as possible along with finished projects.
